BMFcast Extra 215 – Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) is finally a thing. Congrats internet, you did it I guess. And while we have wildly different opinions about this new cut of the 2017 film, we can both agree that we would prefer a smooth Superman.

BMFcast Extra 210 – Guns Akimbo

Guns Akimbo (2020) is a divisive motion picture about an underground fight/murder club, social media, sick needle drops and offers of crack cocaine. It stars Daniel Radcliffe who displays some remarkable comedic timing playing a man with guns bolted to his hands, for reasons.

BMFcast Extra 209 – Underwater

Underwater (2020) is a deep sea monster movie that, while sometimes silly, mostly does everything right. It’s like Leviathan if Leviathan was good!

BMFcast564 – Violent Night – It’s a Wonderful Death

Violent Night (2022) snuck out onto digital this week and so we jettisoned our original holiday plans. I mean, why wouldn’t we? This is David Harbour as a disgruntled, ancient warrior Santa trapped in a modern Die Hard/Home Alone scenario. If you like movies that we like, this is definitely for you. Have a Happy Holiday everyone!

BMFcast543 – New York Ninja – Nintendons

New York Ninja (1984/2021) managed to break our collective brains. Sure there’s plenty of talk about this incomplete, unreleased 80s film resurrected by Vinegar Syndrome, but it leads to questions about the nature of art and then the nature of reality. Is this movie real? Is anything real? Who are you people? What’s happening?

BMFcast538 – Moonfall – The Jizz of the Ancients

Moonfall (2022) is completely bonkers. The moon falls out of its orbit and will crash into the Earth within weeks. A handful of heroes attempt to stop it but discover there’s more to the story than anyone realized. Way more. Like holy God there’s so much more. Roland Emmerich’s latest disaster movie is one of the goofiest things you can watch, and you should absolutely watch it.

BMFcast Variety Hour 042 – The 2021 Golden Jox Awards

It is time to give out our Golden Jox awards for our favorite films of 2021! What a year, huh? What a weird, weird year. Will your favorites be our favorites? Come find out! One thing we can all agree on though is that ping pong is not a popular sport in space.

BMFcast Spoilcast 009 – Dune

Dune (2021) is out and is available on HBO Max! Two mild Dune enthusiasts are here to talk through all things Dune. Write in and let us know all the Dune things we got wrong!

The BMFcast Variety Hour 039 – Penultimate

This week we’ve got thoughts on the new Mortal Kombat (2021) movie as well as random takes on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, For All Mankind and It: Chapters 1 and 2. Then it’s spoilcast time as we’re talking all six episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. And if all goes according to plan, this should be the next to last episode of The Variety Hour, with regular episodes of the BMFcast returning the week following. Get hype!

The BMFcast Variety Hour 038 – Sorry Ska Fans

Minari (2020) is the main thing on this week’s docket, but talk quickly shifts to the Miles Davis documentary Birth of the Cool. Then, the jazz version of the podcast kicks in as we get all freeform with topics ranging from christian rock to cooking during the pandemic to antique toasters. Also, vaccine side effects, concert experiences and Discovery Plus!
