BMFcast94 – Far Cryland

Far Cry (2008) gets the review treatment. Somehow this is our first film by Dr. Boll and the Video Game Mayhem. I don’t know how it took us 94 episodes to get here.

Second half we talk Attack the Block and Contagion. Then we revisit the topic of TV and talk what shows we’re watching and which ones we want burnt to the ground. We’re looking at you TLC.

BMFcast93 – Cancer Snake

Hard Ticket to Hawaii (1987) is reviewed this week. We tried to avoid the ’80s for a while but we just couldn’t stay away. After you watch this, you’ll know why we are happy to join the world of Andy Sidaris.

Second half we discuss Drive and answer some questions from Twitter.

BMFcast92 – Dave

Caution: Contents contained are not properly represented by this poster or synopsis.

G.I. Executioner (1971, 1975, 1984?) is a movie with a misleading title, poster and synopsis. Dave’s just a guy trying to keep The Man from getting his hands on his junk. Honestly we could write anything here and it would probably sum up the movie better than every description we’ve read.

Second half we take some voicemail, Twitter questions and talk about random movies. Standard tomfoolery abounds. Enjoy!

BMFcast91 – The Word

We were shocked it was so terrible. And yet so loveable.

Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010) is a suggestion by The Asian Correspondent. Words won’t do this one justice, just listen.

Second half we take some listener mail, talk a bit about Red State (2011) and double (triple) up on the Cons as we talk WWCC, Flashback Weekend and Dragon*Con. Set phasers to nerd and ENGAGE!

BMFcast90 – The Blood Bank

Hard to Rotoscope (the poster)

Hard to Kill (1990) stars Steven Seagal, somehow just now making his BMFcast debut. So maybe we didn’t hit the stratosphere exactly on our 1980s swansong, but there’s still a lot of fun to be had here. And you can take that to the bank.

Second half we take a plethora of voicemails and give our review of Conan the Barbarian (2011).

BMFcast89 – The Rape Escape

Snake? Snaaaaaaake!

Snake Eater (1989), starring Lorenzo Lamas is reviewed this week. If you’re looking for a revenge kill fest that pays off in all the right ways, you may want to look elsewhere. On the plus side, nobody was raped which is rare in our oeuvre of movies. And hey, it has a botorcycle, so there’s that!

Second half we take a moment to wonder, “What’s it all about, Alfie?” and read an email from geographically as far from us as possible. Plus more shenanigans are gotten up to.

BMFcast88 – Thunderblast from a Butthorn

Stop making that face, it’ll stay like that.

Bulletproof (1988) stars the BMFcast’s own Gary Busey. We’ve claimed him. You can’t have him, butthorn! Oh ok, you can have him. He’s barely housebroken.

Second half we take a couple of listener voicemails, go off on rants about movie monsters (real vs CG) and give a quick review of Cowboys and Aliens. Enjoy!

BMFcast87 – Hitler on Ice

Handpainted posters > Every other poster

Order of the Black Eagle (1987) is reviewed this episode. It’s the second (of two) Duncan Jax movies and while Unmasking the Idol (1986) is fun, this one just ups EVERYTHING up to a number beyond 11. We talk for about an hour, if that tells you anything, and we didn’t even mention Hitler’s face exploding!

Second half we take some voicemails and talk the finer points of Chuck Norris, Smarmy Chuckface and indie zombie movies. Plus some Japanese gore movies with RoboGeisha and Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl. Then we kick it into overdrive and talk Tree of Life. All of this is true except one part. Enjoy!

BMFcast – Super Soldier Special

Pyun Pyun Pyun.

Captain America (1990) by Albert Pyun kicks off this very special (non numbered) edition of the BMFcast, as we review back to back Captain Americas. Matt Salinger stars as Cap, and along for the ride are (for some unknown reason) Ronny Cox, Ned Beatty and Darrin McGavin.

In the second half, it’s SpoilCast time as we talk Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) in the version that has a budget of more than $10. Seriously, I think in the 1990 one they ended up buffaloing and eating the wings off Cap’s mask by the end of it. As always, spoilers ahoy! Also, the part of Maki in the second half will be played by the oft mentioned but never before heard (on the BMFcast at least) Greencapt.

BMFcast86 – In Space

This poster in no way sums up this movie.

Vicious Lips (1986) was sold to us as a movie about an all female rock group… in space. Think that’s all you need to hear? Well don’t because we’re going to talk about it.

Second half it’s a cavalcade of movie talk including Transformers: Dark of the Moon and a bunch of other with far less Bayhem. We also take some voicemails from the Garfield Phone. Enjoy!
