BMFcast292 – Spelicopter

BMF-Ep292-slider

Moon 44 (1990) is our movie for the week and it’s the last movie Roland Emmerich made before breaking into Hollywood proper. There’s space drones, space prisoners, space geeks, space helicopters and space Macolm McDowell.

Second half we discuss Police Story 1/2, Plastic Galaxy and Fanboys. Plus dream of a world where we get the original Star Wars trilogy unaltered but remastered. Enjoy!

BMFcast291 – Trinitrotoluene Award

Spaced Invaders (1990) found its way onto Bluray this week so we decided we should check it out. It’s full of watermelon aliens and wacky townsfolk but a surprising amount of jokes actually work.

Second half we talk about The Duff, Dumb and Dumber To, The Lego Movie and more including a lengthy discussion of the career of M. Night Shyamalan without having actually seen The Visit. Enjoy!

Prom Night III: The Last Kiss (1990) is a hard movie to categorize. It’s supposed to be a horror sequel to a prior BMFcast reviewed movie but ends up being much more of a comedy spoof. This probably wasn’t helped by the fact we watched the US DVD cut which is edited down to near TV movie level of sanitized. But somehow we all still enjoy it pretty well.

Second half we discuss Flash Gordon, The Legend of the Drunken Master and Hercules. Plus more including listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast289 – Craven Rum Raisin

BMF-Ep289-slider

Night Visions (1990) has us celebrating the work of the late Wes Craven with his TV movie/pilot about a loose cannon cop and a psychic paired up to take down a serial killer.

Second half we simply walk into the final conversation about The Hobbit series and let things devolve from there. Then tackle some listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast288 – Disposable Muse

BMF-Ep288-slider

Graffiti Bridge (1990) is the somewhat sequel to Purple Rain and we talk about both. Mostly because we don’t know how to talk coherently about Graffiti Bridge.

Second half we discuss Unfriended, It Follows, Up in the Air and Chuck continues his increasingly unexpected and ill-advised journey through the Hobbit trilogy. Plus a lot of listener correspondence and more. Enjoy!

BMFcast287 – Shovel Chucker

BMF-Ep287-slider

The Final Sanction (1990) is our movie of the week as we pay tribute to the late David A. Prior and Robert Z’Dar. Ted Prior is back to represent the US in a mano a mano showdown vs. USSR to end nuclear conflict.

Second half we discuss Rush, The Hobbit series and They Live. Plus listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast286 – Eric Roberts in Peril

BMF-Ep286-slider

The Ambulance (1990) is the movie that finally reveals our dark secret of 2015 by way of Eric Roberts revealing a dark plot to kidnap diabetic victims in New York City. James Earl Jones chews gum and scenery. Many a stuntman is put in harm’s way as well.

Second half we discuss Trainwreck, The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? and more. Enjoy!

BMFcast285 – ET Bone Home

BMF-Ep285-slider

Peacemaker (1990) is our latest discovery. It features both Robert Forster and Robert Davi in a tale of dueling space aliens, killer car chases and huge explosions. Who’s good? Who’s bad? Hit play and find out.

In the second half we chat about Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (and flashback to Mission: Impossible 2). Also, Lost Soul, Wet Hot American Summer (both the film and the Netflix series) and the entirety of Californication. Enjoy!

BMFcast284 – Jean Claude Valjean

BMF-Ep284-slider

Lionheart (1990) aka Wrong Bet aka A.W.O.L. brings back Jean-Claude Van Damme and the director of Only The Strong for a street fightin’ good time with a terrific sidekick and an even better final fight.

Second half Harlo talks Ted 2, Chuck gives us the lowdown on Joe Dirt and Joe Dirt 2, and we take a plethora of voicemails from the Garfield Hotline. Enjoy!

BMFcast283 – Weekend at Thornies

BMF-Ep283-slider

Side Out (1990) shows us what happens when you stretch the Top Gun volleyball scene out to a full-length movie with C. Thomas Howell, Peter Horton and Courtney Thorne Smith. And it’s glorious.

Second half we talk about Ant-Man and get an interesting phone call on the Garfield Hotline. Check it out and enjoy!
