BMFcast Extra 181 – Critters 2 The Main Course

Critters 2 The Main Course (1988) picks up two years after the first film ends, with Bradley coming back to town to visit his grandmother. Meanwhile, the eggs from the end of the previous installment have been discovered, and since it’s Easter, well you can guess what happens from there. How did we feel about this goofy sequel? Tune in!

BMFcast505 – Killer Crocodile – Straight Up Jungle Snack

Killer Crocodile (1989) is the first of two mutant croc movies where Italians pretend to be Americans and search for pollution in the Dominican Republic. Here they encounter a killer crocodile and have to kill it, but only after most of their friends get chomped. Features the worst rescue scene you’ll ever see, hands down.

BMFcast Extra 177 – Critters

Critters (1986) is one of the movies that HBO Max was touting heavily on launch day, so here we are. It’s a first time watch for Harlo but Chuck has seen it dozens of times. Where will our two hosts land on this cult horror classic?

The BMFcast Variety Hour 021 – Great Big Bushy Beard

The Babysitter (2017) is just one of the many horror topics we discuss in the latest episode. McG’s first entry in what’s now a horror franchise the film we have in common this week, but then we’ve also got words for The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020), the Cube trilogy (1997-2004), Shudder’s Cursed Films (2020) and a hodgepodge of mediocre horror titles such as Into the Grizzly Maze, Patient Zero, Red Lights and 6 Souls. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 156 – Octopus

Octopus (2000) is about 12 movies all wrapped into one, and only a small portion of it involves an octopus. You mainly get that at the end. Before that it’s a Hunt for Red October / Speed 2 / Down Periscope mishmash that… well, look it’s on Amazon Prime so go watch it and then come back here for our bemused takes.

BMFcast Extra 138 – The Amityville Murders

The Amityville Murders (2018) is an attempt to tell the original story of the DeFeo murders, the incident which occurred before the Lutz family moves into the house in the original Amityville Horror. In some ways it works, and in many others it doesn’t. But it has weird Amityville II: The Possession nostalgia and insane Long Island accents, so enjoy!

BMFcast492 – Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 – Naughty This

Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 (1987) starts with 45 MINUTES OF FLASHBACKS to the first film. That’s not a joke. Then the short film sequel begins as the killer’s brother is now the killer and also a horrible actor. Drink every time he wiggles his eyebrows and chug every time he says “Naughty!”.

The second half is a movie opinion-a-palooza as we’ve got a lot of catching up to do. So join us for our thoughts on the following: Knives Out, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (contains mild spoilers), Ad Astra, X-Men Dark Phoenix, Hobbs & Shaw, Angel Has Fallen, Detective Pikachu, The Kid Who Would Be King, Dumbo, Long Shot, The Irishman, Anna and the Apocalypse, Replicas and finally a surprise film you’ll all want to know about.

And there’s still more! Enjoy chat about the new Netflix series The Movies That Made Us, and then finally we take an email about new television purchasing. Enjoy!

BMFcast473 – Uncle Sam – Chekhov’s Balls

Uncle Sam (1996) was once America’s gift to us, and now we give it back. Sam is a terrible person and a dead The Troop™ who rises from the dead to murder basically anyone. Flag burners, dope smokers, BBQ teens… no one is safe.

In the second half we’ve got an eclectic batch of opinions on A Star is Born, Hidden Figures, Historical Roasts, 2001 A Space Odyssey, and The Iron Giant. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 111 – Piranha II The Spawning

Piranha II: The Spawning (1981) is technically the directorial debut of James Cameron, but he doesn’t talk about it much and neither does anyone else involved in the production. The film does feature flying piranha though. That’s cool, right? Too bad the movie doesn’t bother to think it’s cool.

BMFcast448 – Silent Night, Deadly Night – Quigley’s Down Under

Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) is the notorious Santa Claus slasher that’s laughable in today’s climate because SO MUCH has happened to us since 1984. Anyway, there’s some fun to be had here, especially if you like an entire second act where you can just identify 80s toys in the background.

In the second half we’ve got a slew of new releases to talk about. Chuck and BJ have praise for the technical aspects of Game Night, Harlo viewed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Peppermint, and Bad Times at the El Royale, and Chuck rapid fires through Tag, Mission Impossible Fallout, Deadpool 2 and Venom. Enjoy, and happy holidays!
