BMFcast Extra 104 – Black Water

Black Water (2018) is still banking on your nostalgia for the pairing of Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. It’s a “submarine” movie that clearly doesn’t take place inside one, and was mostly filmed in Mobile, Alabama. It’s about as mundane as you can get, but is it bad?

BMFcast Extra 103 – The Meg

The Meg (2018) is the first major studio megalodon movie after a flood of low budget ones, and that’s not usually how it works. This one has Jason Statham literally fighting the giant shark, and it’s great! Don’t sleep on this one.

BMFcast450 – Bumblebee – You Should See Him

Bumblebee (2018) is a good movie. No, we haven’t changed what we do or sold out or anything like that. This is just how things worked out at the end of the year to get you some content. But yes, Bumblebee is a good movie, it’s the Transformers movie you want, and you should definitely check it out.

If you’re not ready for Bumblebee spoiler talk however, jump ahead to the 01:08:00 mark and enjoy our Golden Jox of 2018 awards, where we tell you all the movies that were great from the past year. Some of them… might surprise you. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 101 – Transformers The Last Knight

Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) is our last Michael Bay Transformers movie and THANK GOD BECAUSE THEY’RE ALL SO EXHAUSTING. Also, there’s bonus Transformers G1 animated series talk.

BMFcast Extra 099 – Pain and Gain

Pain and Gain (2013) is the tale of three swole boys doing crimes, so we enlisted the two swolest members of the podcast to talk about it. It’s Michael Bay’s most non-Michael Bay-iest movie yet!

BMFcast447 – Deep Blue Sea – Deez Boobs, See?

Deep Blue Sea 2 (2018) is the sequel we never knew we wanted. Turns out we were right. We didn’t want it.

In the second half though we’ve got a ton of actual movies to talk about, including Upgrade, Sorry To Bother You, Benji, Ideal Home, Ready Player One, Isle of Dogs, Hearts Beat Loud and more. Random Netflix and Stan Lee chat as well. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 098 – Transformers Age of Extinction

Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) is a soft reboot of the series with the same plot continuity but an entirely new cast. That means we get a healthy dose of Marky Mark and Stanley Tucci running around fighting Transformers. But whew, is this thing exhausting!

BMFcast446 – Altitude – Sick Bags

Altitude (2017) had Dolph Lundgren on set for maybe a day and Denise Richards on set for far too long. It’s one of those airline hijacking things that is completely absurd but not in a fun way. Perhaps this genre is done?

In the second half we’re still doing Golden Jox prep as Harlo and BJ stream The Ballad of Buster Scruggs and Chuck gushes over Upgrade. Plus, documentaries VHS Lives and Nintendo Quest. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 094 – Transformers Dark of the Moon

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) is redemption for the franchise that went horrifically off the rails in the previous installment. It’s not great, but it’s pretty good, thanks mostly in part to the second one sucking so badly.

BMFcast432 – The Jurassic Games – I’m Tucker! I’m Innocent!

The Jurassic Games (2018) is Jurassic Park meets The Hunger Games meets Ready Player One meets The Running Man meets Gamer meets The Fugitive meets Law Abiding Citizen. And it’s good? What the heck?!

In the second half we talk Missions: Impossible, Glow Season 2 and more. Enjoy!
