BMFcast Extra 205 – Masters of the Universe

“He’s so dreamy.” — Man-at-Arms

Masters of the Universe (1987) is Cannon Films’ attempt to make money off the mostly no longer relevant He-Man franchise, starring Dolph Lundgren in the vehicle that was supposed to make him a star. Also along for the ride are Courtney Cox, Tom Paris from Star Trek Voyager and Mr. Strickland from Back to the Future.

BMFcast561 – Alien Warrior – An Afterschool Special for Dirtbags

Alien Warrior (1985) is one of those movies. It’s baffling in all the best ways. It’s about a beefy space alien man who comes to Earth to defeat “Great Evil”. Once here he runs afoul of evil pimp Mr. One and also helps kids learn to read after building a sports car from scratch. Who is this for?!

BMFcast560 – Street Fighter – Li-fenestra-chun

Street Fighter (1994) is a big ol’ mess of a video game movie featuring a coked up Jean-Claude Van Damme and a sadly dying Raul Julia butting heads while a whole bunch of supporting characters… also do stuff. It’s nothing like the video games but some of the costumes are accurate!

BMFcast559 – Mercenary Fighters – Superfly DDT

Mercenary Fighters (1988) is a Cannon release about a group of, uh… mercenary fighters who are hired to remove some rebels from a small African country. While doing so, some of them (mainly Reb Brown) seem to think they’re not doing the right thing. He keeps doing it long after he comes to that conclusion though. It’s not very clear. But he gets to yell and stuff, so there’s there.
