BMFcast414 – The Taking of Beverly Hills – Shuriken Wahl

The Taking of Beverly Hills (1991) has Ken Wahl as a hotshot NFL quarterback who is the only man left to thwart a Robert Davi led scheme to rob the entire city of Beverly Hills under the guise of a chemical spill evacuation. This one is crazy, with SWAT tanks, flamethrowers, car stunts aplenty, ninja stars and, of course, gratuitous explosions. The only question is just how many Jox will this be awarded?

In the second half we go movie-crazy, with talk of Duncan Jones’ new Netflix film Mute (2018), Chuck revisits the Tombstone (1993) vs Wyatt Earp (1994) debate, Harlo is impressed with Moonlight (2016), not so much with Hellraiser (1987), Maki checks out Criterion’s brand-new (gorgeous) Night of the Living Dead (1968) blu-ray, and we wrap up with discussion of The Disaster Artist (2017) and Tommy Wiseauness in general.
