BMFcast435 – Ballistic Ecks vs Sever

Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002) is a notorious box office flop and as such we’ve been avoiding it for over 400 episodes. However, it’s not like we’re above it or anything, so to prove we’re not bad movie snobs we finally fired up this action stinkbomb to give it a proper look.

In the second half, Harlo’s back with The Spy Who Dumped Me, Chuck struggles through the big screen reboot of Land of the Lost, and BJ watches animation from Japan. Enjoy!

BMFcast434 – Hot Dog the Movie – Skifenestration

Hot Dog the Movie (1984) by reputation is a raunchy sex comedy. It’s not. It’s a ski movie with boobs on display here and there. Some dudes ski, sometimes they have the sex, there’s a scandal and a big race, and that’s that.

In the second half we… just kidding, there is no second half this week. Enjoy!

BMFcast433 – Mac and Me – Busby Burgerley

Mac and Me (1988) was a film we thought we could ignore. This ET-knockoff and product placement-apalooza had been well covered by plenty of other podcasts over the years. But when the mad geniuses over at Shout Factory decided this needed a Blu-ray release, well… that was our cue.

In the second half we talk about shows where comedians do things and talk to other comedians. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 086 – Poseidon

Poseidon (2006) is the unnecessary remake of the 70s classic that features spectacle and stunts and zero characters. Still, there might be some fun to be had with it.

BMFcast Extra 085 – Beyond the Poseidon Adventure

Beyond the Poseidon Adventure (1979) is the great on paper, poorly executed sequel to The Poseidon Adventure (imagine that). It’s absolutely ludicrous in ways that delighted one of us and frustrated the other. Later, Chuck talks about watching the animated Brady Kids series from the early 1970s.

BMFcast432 – The Jurassic Games – I’m Tucker! I’m Innocent!

The Jurassic Games (2018) is Jurassic Park meets The Hunger Games meets Ready Player One meets The Running Man meets Gamer meets The Fugitive meets Law Abiding Citizen. And it’s good? What the heck?!

In the second half we talk Missions: Impossible, Glow Season 2 and more. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 084 – The Poseidon Adventure

The Poseidon Adventure (1972) is the birth of the disaster genre and a damn fine motion picture. We’re here to break it all down for you in a hot new format. Comments welcome.

BMFcast Extra 083 – Gray Lady Down

Gray Lady Down (1978) is a star-studded submarine disaster movie which sometimes focuses more on procedure over spectacle. Still, this new Shout Factory Blu-ray might be worth a look. Also discussed are Twin Peaks (1990) and Heavenly Bodies (1984).

We are tinkering with the formula of BMFcast Extra starting with this episode and would LOVE your feedback. Please leave us a note letting us know what you think.

BMFcast431 – Capital Punishment – Project KICK

Capital Punishment (1991) had a budget of $12 after paying stars Gary Daniels and David Carradine. Supposedly it’s about a killer drug that gives you super adrenaline and makes your babies born deformed. Gary Daniels is an underground kickboxer who both gets swept up in the investigation and was a part of it all along? It’s weird.

In the second half, Harlo raves about Sorry to Bother You and The Ant-Man and the Wasp, while Chuck references Ready Player One. Then everyone fights about movie musicals. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 082 – The Phantom

The Phantom (1996) is a mistreated superhero movie that is just starting to gain a cult status. It features Billy Zane and Treat Williams hamming it up (as they should) and it’s worth a look. SO GO LOOK.
