The BMFcast Variety Hour 025 – Backwards Lobster Crawl

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020) is the big thing this week, but this also leads to talk about the legacy of Borat. Elsewhere, we discuss Season 2 of The Boys, Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, The Right Stuff and some spoiler-free (mostly!) thoughts on Season 2 of The Mandalorian. And yes, towards the end we discuss The Politics™. Enjoy, and celebrate!

BMFcast Extra 164 – Gold

Gold (1974) features Roger Moore as the assistant manager of a South African gold mine whose actual manager has conspired with Sir John Gielgud to destroy the mine and profit. The plot is revealed in the first 15 minutes but Moore doesn’t know anything about it until the last 15 minutes. In between? Wooing Susannah York for hours and hours and hours…

The BMFcast Variety Hour 024 – Michael Jai Wife

Welcome to Sudden Death (2020) is a “reimagining” of the JCVD classic. We’ve all seen it, and we have some wildly different thoughts. After that there’s some quick talk about Nat Geo’s The Right Stuff and some classic favorites Spaceballs and The Addams Family. Stay safe, everyone!

The BMFcast Variety Hour 023 – Nine Episodes

Hubie Halloween (2020) is Adam Sandler’s latest for Netflix and is the main topic for this week’s episode. But we’ve also got words for HBO’s The Vow, Apple TV’s Beastie Boys Story, CBS All Access’ Console Wars, Showtime’s The Comey Rule, Amazon’s The Boys: Season 2, Hulu’s John Bronco, HBOMax’s The West Wing Reunion, and FX’s Fargo: Season 4. You probably have one of those services!

BMFcast Extra 163 – Aces Iron Eagle III

Aces: Iron Eagle III (1992) is a “Say No To Drugs” version of The Seven Samurai. Chappy (Louis Gossett Jr.) and a collection of World War II pilots invade Peru to stop drug dealing Nazi guy who played Belloq in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Everyone in the cast is someone you recognize, with the exception of the hot, oiled up muscle lady who honestly should have gotten more work.

BMFcast Extra 162 – Blue Thunder

Blue Thunder (1983) stars Roy Scheider as a helicopter pilot and Malcolm McDowell as a helicopter pilot. They are at odds for past and present reasons, and there’s also a hot new helicopter called the Blue Thunder, which is part of Project THOR. Things are not what they seem and… well whatever there’s a helicopter chase through the LA River and then downtown LA. It’s rad.

BMFcast Extra 161 – Tekken

Tekken (2010) is the film adaptation of the popular video game franchise that no one asked for. Dudes and ladies fight in a post-apocalyse setting where corporations rule all. So our near future basically. Allow two non-Tekken experts to help guide you through it.

BMFcast Extra 160 – Code of Silence

Code of Silence (1985) is a cop movie featuring cop Chuck Norris and a cop robot. Nothing more needs to be said, really. Except for what we say during the podcast of course.

The BMFcast Variety Hour 022 – Kickin the Icksent

Well, it finally happened. Lockdown has broken us. This will be clear as you listen to this latest episode that, while managing to stay on topic for discussions of The Social Dilemma and the filmography of Edgar Wright, also manages to not run the opening theme until 20 minutes into the show like we’re a later season episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus or something. Help. Send bad movies. We’re broken.
