BMFcast211 – Gunn in a B.A.G.

Black Gunn (1972) is how we kick off the third annual Blaxploitation History Month. It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year and so we start where our hearts tells us, with Jim Brown.

Second half we quickly run through some movies including Rewind This (2013) and get right to listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast165 – Force of Nature

Three The Hard Way (1974) wraps up Blaxploitation History Month with a bang. All-Stars Jim Brown, Fred Williamson and Jim Kelly unite to bring us one of the best action films we’ve reviewed. Spoilers: We liked it. A lot.

Second half we talk a ton of movies including A Good Day to Die Hard, Taken 2 and many many more. So much action packed into this episode! Enjoy!

BMFcast164 – Where’s Brenda?

Black Shampoo (1976) gets the review for our third week of Blaxploitation History Month. This theme has taken some odd turns and so does this movie.

Second half we talk some random movies including Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Chronicle and Jeff Who Lives at Home. Plus plenty more including listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast163 – Stunt Fro

TNT Jackson (1974) explodes onto week two of Blaxploitation History Month! This one brings us Playboy Playmate Jeannie Bell doing some rather unconvincing martial arts. Not to mention acting.

Second half we talk Lincoln (sans vampires), Paranormal Activity 4 (now with ghosts!) and plenty more (with our stupid comments!). Enjoy!

BMFcast162 – Planes, Trains and Slaughtermobiles

Slaughter’s Big Rip-Off (1973) begins our second annual Blaxploitation History Month! It’s Jim Brown vs. Ed McMahon!(?) What better way to start the month than with the sequel to our highest rated movie from last year?

Second half it’s a bunch of crazy as we talk Ted, Seven Psychopaths with other random movies and take a bunch of backlogged listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast113 – Yaphet and the Kid

The Monkey Hu$tle (1976) wraps up Blaxploitation History Month. We’re joined one last time by American Treasure Yaphet Kotto and this time he has a kid sidekick. While this is normally a recipe for disaster, the only thing disastrous in this one is the fashion.

Second half we briefly talk about Tucker and Dale vs Evil and The Warrior’s Way then go down into possibly our most lengthy discussion ever as we recount our visiting of MegaCon 2012. There is lots of us geeking out over all the geek activities we encountered. Enjoy!

BMFcast112 – To Elevator

Friday Foster (1975) continues Blaxploitation History Month with our first foray into the filmography of Pam Grier. For a lady known for kicking a lot of ass, she sure doesn’t do much in this one. But hey, Yaphet Kotto!

Second half we take correspondence galore and go off on our usual tangents about movies and other things not so much about movies. Like giant McDonald’s. Enjoy!

BMFcast111 – Pimp Moot

Truck Turner (1974) continues Blaxploitation History Month. Issac Hayes is a bail bondsman bounty hunter bringing bloody bar brawls back into bearing. And there’s a gaggle of pimps whom you just won’t believe exist in this universe.

Second half we talk movie monsters, the MPAA in The Film Is Not Yet Rated (2006) and have some movie giveaways. Enjoy!

Here you go, the Pimp Funeral!

BMFcast110 – Black in Action

Slaughter (1972) kicks off Blaxploitation History Month! Jim Brown shows us all how a movie entrance is supposed to go down.

Second half we take a couple of voicemails and emails and then re-open the Batman can’o’worms. We’re joined by special guest Tobias and he regales us his viewing of 1998’s Point Blank. Enjoy!
