BMFcast Extra 192 – Kickboxer

Kickboxer (1989) is Jean-Claude Van Damme’s… okay look, you all know what Kickboxer is. We watched it.

BMFcast Extra 191 – 2019 After the Fall of New York

2019: After the Fall of New York (1983) is a pre-Children of Men / post-Escape From New York ripoff featuring laser crossbows, monkey men, and the last fertile woman on Earth. Action scenes feature random snippets of OH MY GOD VIOLENCE as well as random flipping and hidden trampolines.

BMFcast Extra 188 – Transylvania 6-5000

Transylvania 6-5000 (1985) is a cult 80s comedy that Harlo and Chuck both watched for the very first time in 2020. The results are not favorable, however we both agree that Geena Davis’ costume is the best thing in the film.

BMFcast528 – The Blob – Art La Flurries

The Blob (1988) is a damn good time at the movies. This remake of the 1950s classic is both faithful and surprising, and features some nifty special effects for the time. And this is how we said farewell to veteran character actor Art LaFleur who passed away this week. Ribbed.

BMFcast525 – Raiders of Atlantis – Laser Rub and Tug

Raiders of Atlantis (1983) is another baffling Italian action film that involves a glam motorcycle gang that may or may not be from Atlantis menacing a group of survivors from a disaster caused by Atlantis. We are all very confused by this thing.

BMFcast524 – The Stuff – Human Resources Puff and Stuff

The Stuff (1985) is an actual example of a cult classic. In it, Michael Moriarty and friends have to stop a delicious dessert product that bubbles up from under ground. The whole world is addicted to it and since no one likes to be told what to do, especially for their own health… can it be stopped?

BMFcast518 – Nightmare Beach – Enter the Draggin’

Nightmare Beach (1989) is what happens when the Italians come over to Daytona Beach, Florida to make a Spring Break movie. A masked killer is offing Spring Breakers left and right. Could it be Diablo, the recently executed leader of the local biker gang? Go Gators!

BMFcast515 – Omega Syndrome – Berlin Wahl

Omega Syndrome (1986) has a cool poster but is a lousy movie. Ken Wahl and his Vietnam vet buddy have to rescue Nicole Eggert from Nazis. We could tease you with additional details about it, or you can listen to hear us get duped by phony IMDb trivia about the film and then realize we’ve been duped in real time. That’s fun.

BMFcast Extra 184 – Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can (1989) is the first from from director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy). It’s a weird high school sock hop version of the 1980s where everyone is kind of generic and the student council president is betting on illegal street races to help raise the funds to save their school from closure. There’s a lot to discuss here.

BMFcast512 – Strike Commando – Americanski

RAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Strike Commando (1986) is why we do this. Terrible movie, absolute trash… and yet it’s the best thing. Reb Brown yells at and then murders everyone in Vietnam. Then later some extra folks in the Philippines. It’s Rambo: First Blood Part II made by space aliens.
