BMFcast495 – The Candy Tangerine Man – Pimpultimate

The Candy Tangerine Man (1975) kicks off our 8th annual Blaxploitation History Month! The Black Baron is both the best and worst pimp in southern California, battling invaders on all fronts while also keeping a family in the suburbs!

In the second half we get caught up on 2019 movies with Jojo Rabbit, Doctor Sleep, Terminator: Dark Fate and The Poison Rose. BJ checks in with The Raid 2 and then we get caught up on TV talk with The Outsider, Watchmen, His Dark Materials, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Little America and The Mandalorian . Also, Chuck wants you to watch 1976’s J.D.’s Revenge. Enjoy!

BMFcast472 – T-Force – Maybe It’s Valvoline

T-Force (1994) is a delightfully silly low budget action film from the masterminds at PM Entertainment, makers of Hologram Man. RoboCops are decommissioned but that goes against their survival protocol, so they rebel. Also, they learn to love… physically. Lots of other things (besides their robopassion) explode all over the screen.

In the second half there are X-Men: Dark Phoenix and San Andreas thoughts, along with an extended rant about people not shutting the hell up in theaters, and why it’s broken yet another one of us. Enjoy!

BMFcast471 – Excessive Force 2 Force on Force – Handball for the Homeless

Excessive Force 2: Force on Force (1995) is an in-name only sequel to a film even we don’t remember. A former special forces lady hunts her previous commanding officer who tried putting a bullet into her brain. Some of that bullet is still there, which causes problems for her at the worst possible times.

Another truncated second half this week, but we still sneak in some further thoughts on Deadwood, Good Omens and The Lego Movie 2. Enjoy!

BMFcast468 – Maximum Force – 401kill

Maximum Force (1992) is the conclusion of Force May-jeure. John Saxon recruits cops Flash Gordon, Rusty Griswold and a lady to join forces and defeat the evil Richard Lynch. Mickey Rooney rides around in a limo and everything is bathed in lovely blue light.

In the second half we’ve got more Into the Spider-Verse talk, along with revisiting Marvel: Phase 1 and first time thoughts on Hot Rod (2008). Enjoy!

BMFcast466 – Deadly Force – Wings Plows-her

Deadly Force (1983) promises a crazy thrill-ride about a loose cannon cop on special assignment in Los Angeles to catch a serial killer. That kinda happens in the background. The music tries hard to make it all exciting, but it’s not.

In the second half we’ve got more thoughts about the concepts of spoilers (without any current ones, promise!). Also, some random Parks and Recreation musings. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 102 – Bad Boys 2

Bad Boys II (2003) is our last Michael Bay movie. It is also the best Michael Bay movie. Yep, he peaked in 2003. Still, what a ride.

BMFcast427 – The Hidden – Beep Out

The Hidden (1987) is an underrated sci-fi actioner that some would say is too good for our show. So what? It’s awesome and we watched it. Join us as we praise this goofy little thing.

In the second half it’s time for TV Corner as Harlo streams Cobra Kai and Con Men, BJ marathons more Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Chuck gets the sads watching Showtime’s Patrick Melrose. Enjoy!

BMFcast415 – Shakedown – Homemade Orange Julius

Shakedown (1988) is a bizarre mashup of courtroom action with late-’80s cop movie action insanity. Peter Weller is a loose-cannon lawyer working with Sam Elliott’s not-so-loose-cannon cop to take down a drug ring of crooked cops. Many a stuntman was likely injured in bringing you this craziness.

In the second half we get Oscar-happy as BJ loves Coco (2017) and Harlo has thoughts on The Shape of Water (2017).
Then it’s not-so-Oscary as we discuss the New Star Trek Trilogy and give a recommendation for listener Jens’ new podcast, The Goldsmith Oddyssey.

BMFcast Extra 060 – The Last of the Finest

The Last of the Finest (1990) stars Brian Dennehy, Bill Paxton, Joey Pants and Jeff Fahey as loose cannon cops trying to bust up a drug ring. It has moments! And we discuss those moments!

BMFcast404 – Nighthawks – Peek A Boo Cop

Nighthawks (1981) combines two of our favorites, Rutger Hauer and Sylvester Stallone (along with Billy Dee Williams) in the story of a couple beat cops tasked with stopping an international terrorist. Does this slow burn thriller pay off for us?

In the second half we go nuts with movies, as we’ve all been quite busy watching the movie based on The Room (2003), The Disaster Artist (2017); hit up Netflix for Master of None and the longly-titled documentary Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – Featuring a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton (2017); catch up on some new comedies in The House (2017) and Baywatch (2017); get weird with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) and weirder with Colossal (2017); and delve into blockbuster fare with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Jurassic World (2015) and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). That might be the longest sentence we’ve ever put together.
