BMFcast Extra 002 – Fraternity Vacation and Private Resort

summer2

Episode two of our Summer Movie Series has arrived as Harlo and Chuck tackle two 1985 T&A comedies with big name actors in early roles: Fraternity Vacation and Private Resort. As is becoming tradition, opinions are split between our two brave podcasters. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Tune in to find out.

BMFcast339 – Out for Justice – Crackheads Get Cracked Heads

Out for Justice (1991) brings back Steven Seagal as a “Brooklyn” detective on the hunt for his partner’s killer. It’s from the writer of Road House, so you know it’s already got that going for it. There’s numerous broken limbs, an unhinged, crack-smoking William Forsythe and some great action scenes, along with some amazingly bad italian accents. Did this push it to the upper level of BMFcast favorites?

After the break Maki has a Sausage Party (2016), Chuck recommends you watch The Signal (2014) as soon as possible with as little information about it as possible, we take some listener correspondence, and even give a Patreon update. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 001 – Summer Rental and Summer School

summer1

Here’s the first BMFcast Extra Summer Movie Series thing where, while we’re still working the kinks out of the format and whatnot, there’s still plenty of good talk and jokes about Summer Rental (1985) and Summer School (1987). Come revisit 80s beaches and Carl Reiner movies with Chuck and Harlo!

BMFcast338 – Jason X – “Defenejason”

Jason X (2001) completes Harlo’s Crystal Lake journey and we all join him for the ride. Its Jason. In space. Murdering people. It’s also self-aware, which works in this case! In space, apparently, everybody is screwed.

In the second half Harlo really, really completes his Friday the 13th journey by watching Freddy vs Jason and the 2009 Friday the 13th remake before opting out of the 7-hour documentary. We also address some listener e-mails. Enjoy!

BMFcast337 – Helen Stunt

Trancers (1984) returns us to the works of Charles Band. Jack Deth is a good cop who lost his way after his wife was killed by Whistler’s trancers, zombie-like dudes who do his evil bidding. So he travels to the distant past of 1985 to meet Helen Hunt and keep himself from being erased from history. All that in a 76-minute movie!

After the break Harlo has some Suicide Squad hot takes, Maki weighs in on Stranger Things, and Friday the 13th Part 9: Jason Goes To Hell gets insulted. All this plus listener e-mails! Enjoy!

BMFcast336 – Notger Hauer

Watchers 3 (1994) takes us back to the Watchers franchise and woof, what a dog of a movie this is. Did we mention that it’s our #Dogust movie? Well, it is! So that’s something.

In the second half, Harlo continues his journey through Crystal Lake with Friday the 13th parts 7 and 8, and then we talk about how lights work. It’s entertaining and informative. Enjoy!
