BMFcast Extra 186 – Parker

Parker (2013) is a weird Jason Statham movie as it’s from the director of Ray and An Officer and a Gentleman, and features a better cast than usual for one of these things. It’s familiar and fun but also odd and it makes some baffling story choices.

BMFcast518 – Nightmare Beach – Enter the Draggin’

Nightmare Beach (1989) is what happens when the Italians come over to Daytona Beach, Florida to make a Spring Break movie. A masked killer is offing Spring Breakers left and right. Could it be Diablo, the recently executed leader of the local biker gang? Go Gators!

BMFcast517 – Bad Blood – Lorenzo’s Oiled

Bad Blood (1994) is also known as Viper, but don’t call it that because it’s meaningless. Lorenzo Lamas is an ex-cop who has to help his idiot brother out of his “I stole $5 million from a drug cartel” situation. Absolutely, mind-blowingly ridiculous stunts are the result. Avoid the trailer, just go find a copy and enjoy.

BMFcast516 – Air Bud Golden Receiver – Paul Rudder

Air Bud: Golden Receiver (1998) is the second Air Bud film and the first where he plays football. Elsewhere, evil Russian circus owners want to steal Air Bud for their show, and Gregory Harrison wants to steal Air Bud’s owner’s mom for possibly serial killer reasons. Rated G for Goof!

BMFcast515 – Omega Syndrome – Berlin Wahl

Omega Syndrome (1986) has a cool poster but is a lousy movie. Ken Wahl and his Vietnam vet buddy have to rescue Nicole Eggert from Nazis. We could tease you with additional details about it, or you can listen to hear us get duped by phony IMDb trivia about the film and then realize we’ve been duped in real time. That’s fun.

BMFcast Extra 185 – Blood Games

Blood Games (1990) sure is sleazy and exploitative. A traveling team of lady softball players are menaced by a town full of the worst of humanity and have to survive and eventually escape. Boy is it gross. Features half a dozen “Oh hey, you!” guys.

BMFcast514 – Beethoven – We Live in a Humane Society

Beethoven (1992) features a lovable St. Bernard who is not initially loved by family patriarch Charles Grodin. Beethoven solves many of the family’s problems, but he will need help escaping the clutches of the evil Dean Jones (Disney’s The Love Bug) who wants to use Beethoven’s big head to test bullet damage on. You read that right. Oliver Platt, Bonnie Hunt, Stanley Tucci and David Duchovny co-star.

BMFcast Extra 184 – Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can (1989) is the first from from director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy). It’s a weird high school sock hop version of the 1980s where everyone is kind of generic and the student council president is betting on illegal street races to help raise the funds to save their school from closure. There’s a lot to discuss here.

BMFcast513 – Night of the Demons 2 – There Can Be Only Nun

Night of the Demons 2 (1994) is the sequel to Night of the Demons, a movie we covered ELEVEN YEARS AGO. It took less time to make a sequel than it did for us to get to it. Anyway, it’s a silly thing with horny teenagers, vicious nuns and snake demons. Needed Linnea Quigley though.

BMFcast512 – Strike Commando – Americanski

RAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Strike Commando (1986) is why we do this. Terrible movie, absolute trash… and yet it’s the best thing. Reb Brown yells at and then murders everyone in Vietnam. Then later some extra folks in the Philippines. It’s Rambo: First Blood Part II made by space aliens.
