BMFcast162 – Planes, Trains and Slaughtermobiles

Slaughter’s Big Rip-Off (1973) begins our second annual Blaxploitation History Month! It’s Jim Brown vs. Ed McMahon!(?) What better way to start the month than with the sequel to our highest rated movie from last year?

Second half it’s a bunch of crazy as we talk Ted, Seven Psychopaths with other random movies and take a bunch of backlogged listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast161 – Phillip the Cyborg

Cyborg Cop (1993) gets a review before we dive straight into the listener recommendation of Cyborg Cop II. Wouldn’t want to get lost in the continuity after all. We’re glad we didn’t skip this one and neither should you.

Second half we cover a lot of movies including The Last Stand, Django Unchained, This Means War, Carlito’s Way and Spaceballs. Whew. That’s a lot of movies. Enjoy!

BMFcast160 – Look Who’s Taken Too

Stolen (2012) is our first official Nic Cage movie in a very long while. Too long, in fact! How did we let this happen? HOW DID WE LET THIS HAPPEN?! Look, if you’ve seen Taken, you’ve seen this movie only done better.

Second half we talk random movies including Looper, The Hunger Games and Apollo 18. Plus, listener correspondence and more. Enjoy!

BMFcast159 – The Nazis Palin Comparison

Iron Sky (2012) is supposed to be a movie about Nazis on the moon but often times delves into wildly shifting tones. We’ll let you guess which parts we wanted more of.

Second half we talk Looper, Clash/Wrath of the Titans and catch up on a backlog of listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast158 – Sadsticks and Fart Jokes

Joysticks (1983) gets reviewed because we just can’t get enough video games and terrible 1980s comedies. On second thought, maybe we have gotten just enough of both.

Second half we discuss FDR: American Badass, Casa de Mi Padre, Red State and a quick television roundup. Enjoy!

BMFcast157 – Dreamworks Animation’s How To Train Your Money

Money Train (1995) helps us celebrate New Year’s with Wesley and Woody back in action. Just don’t get your hopes up. The eponymous Money Train barely shows up in the movie.

Second half it’s time for the 2012 Golden Jox Awards celebrating the best of the good movies from the year. Top 5s discussed. Winners declared. Awards given. Enjoy!

BMFcast156 – Christmas Russian

Christmas Rush (2002) aka (inexplicably) Breakaway continues our Christmas tradition. It’s a TV movie of Die Hard in a mall starring Dean Cain, Erika Eleniak and Eric Roberts. It’s also much better than it should be.

Second half we talk about this little movie you may have heard us and others talking about, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Plus other older and random movies to make for plenty to talk about. Enjoy!

BMFcast155 – Ninja Justice

Pray for Death (1985) stars Sho Kosugi as a man driven to the edge and beyond, to murder the bad guys so hard. Seriously, there may never have existed an antagonist who antagonizes harder than Limehouse Willie.

Second half we talk The Watch, The Dark Knight RisesThe Expendables 2 and more. Enjoy!

BMFcast154 – Hoarse Agent

Steele Justice (1987) is a Rambo-ish ripoff starring Martin Kove of Karate Kid fame. He’s back from ‘Nam and now they’ve killed his partner. It’s time to open up a can of whoopass and bring your pet snake.

Second half we discuss Ted, Valkyrie, J. Edgar and Chuck wraps up Lord of the Rings with Return of the King. Enjoy!

BMFcast153 – Sea Broth

Dinosaur Island (1994) completes Triple Rex 2: State of the Union! It’s a film combining the directorial powerhouse combo of Fred Olin Ray and Jim Wynorski along with the all around powerhouse combo of boobs and dinosaurs.

Second half we talk Total Recall (2012), Chuck finally watches most of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and BJ gets timely with The Simpsons Movie and Brüno. Plus it’s a massive TV blowout conversation and some listener interactions to boot. Enjoy!
