BMFcast302 – Racism Is Over?

BMF-Ep302-slider

Riverbend (1990) marks Steve James and director Sam Firstenberg’s continued legacy on the BMFcast. James has come to the small Georgia town of Riverbend to take on the most evil, racist character we have ever encountered on the show. Does his strange, uncomfortable plan work?

Second half we talk about Netflix’s A Very Murray Christmas, Chuck demands we watch season 2 of The Leftovers and our Correspondence Contest continues as we take a batch of listener mails. Enjoy!

BMFcast301 – Landau Bullet

BMF-Ep301-slider

Real Bullets (1990) begins Season 2 of the BMFcast by combining two of our favorite things: stunts and stuntmen! A team of stunt students accidentally stumbles into a ring of drug smugglers led by Martin Landau. Gunshots, dynamite, arrows to the gut, old prospectors, and of course, stunts, ensue.

After the break Maki ends his painful journey with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Harlo wonders why Fant4stic exists, and Chuck has a great time with San Andreas! We also take some listener correspondence and announce a brand new contest. It’s action packed, so enjoy!

BMFcast300 – Whizz Ca-liffa

BMF-Ep300-slider

Tremors (1990) felt like a well-known enough movie to help us celebrate 300 episodes of podcasting! Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward and Michael Gross star in this homage to ’50s monster b-movies.  Everyone on earth rented it at some point in their lives, so how well does it hold up?

After the break we discuss The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Terminator Genisys and Tusk before taking a few e-mails discussing us reaching 300 episodes and far, far too many hours of podcasts. Enjoy!

BMFcast299 – Sparkling Waterboarding

BMF-Ep299-slider

The Rift (1990) AKA Endless Descent, features an underwater expedition that may involve monsters attacking a sub. It’s a low-budget Leviathan, which was a low-budget The Abyss, so you can figure out what you’re getting. It has R Lee Ermey, though!

After the break we get back in the Bond mood with a whole bunch of talk about Spectre, the latest Daniel Craig adventure, then take some listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast298 – Serious Ninjury

BMF-Ep298-slider

American Ninja 4: The Annihilation is our movie for the week. Finally the two Americans Ninja team up. Or do they?

Second half we discuss Inside Out, the original Star Wars trilogy and spooky movies including Ash vs Evil Dead. Enjoy!

BMFcast297 – Copsicle

BMF-Ep297-slider

Magic Cop (1990) is our wrap up to Coptober. Also known as Mr. Vampire 5, this movie involves a Taoist cop who fights a drug ring who uses enthralled vampires to move product. Yep. That’s what it’s about.

Second half we discuss Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, Knock Knock, Olympus Has Fallen and Army of Darkness. Plus take listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast296 – Old Folks Home Alone

BMF-Ep296-slider

Keaton’s Cop (1990) is the penultimate entry in Coptober 1990. Lee Majors, Abe Vigoda,  and Don Rickles team up to take down mobsters. And also, osteoporosis.

After the break Harlo gives his take on Crimson Peak, BJ checks out the original Oldboy, Maki watches one of Chuck’s 31 in 31 recommendations, Dead & Buried, and we discuss prequels after a listener e-mail. Enjoy!

BMFcast295 – Slow Motion Commotion

BMF-Ep295-slider

Vampire Cop (1990) continues our Coptober 1990 celebration. It’s a shot-on-video “horror action” movie that has a bit too much faked slow motion and not enough coherent storytelling. It does have copious amounts of nudity and unintentional comedy, though.

After the break Harlo talks Dope, Chuck wonders why Poltergeist (2015) exists and we take some listener e-mails. Enjoy!

BMFcast294 – Totes Ransom

Cop Target (1990) continues Coptober with the tale of a seen it all cop who is assigned to provide protection to a dead DEA agent’s wife on a tropical island. She’s very ungrateful for his service.

Second half we talk briefly about Jiro Dreams of Sushi, the Star Wars Despecialized Editions and take some listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast293 – On Top of Old Top Cop

BMF-Ep293-slider

Top Cop (1990) is how we begin Coptober. Malone is a murder machine of a policeman who looks like the sad amalgamation of Dan Haggerty and Ted Dibiase.

Second half it’s all listener correspondence. Enjoy!
