BMFcast Extra 126 – Outland
Outland (1981) tells the story of space cop Sean Connery and his efforts to end a drug ring in a mining colony on one of Jupiter’s moon’s. It’s a space western, and it’s pretty good!

BMFcast481 – Wheels of Fire – Scheduled Pipe Fights
Wheels of Fire (1985) is a post-apocalyptic Mad Max “tribute” starring no one. It’s 80 minutes of car chases, stunts, flame throwers, sex in the heavens, and occasional dune buggies.
In the second half we’ve got more thoughts on Rocketman, the How To Train Your Dragon franchise, Aquaman, Cobra Kai Season Two, and Breaking Bad. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 122 – Iron Eagle II
Iron Eagle II (1988) is a lousy sequel that makes the original look even better. Doug Masters is killed off in the opening scene and then Louis Gossett Jr. has to get a bunch of bland US and Soviet forces to work together to blow up the Middle East.

BMFcast Extra 121 – The Running Man
The Running Man (1987) is a lesser yet still important entry in Arnold’s early filmography. It takes place in 2019 and features a dystopian society fed by state-run media, and the number one show is a gameshow where convicts get murdered to death. Also, it’s got jokes. Hopefully so do we.

BMFcast Extra 119 – Iron Eagle
Iron Eagle (1986) is the first of four Irons Eagles and boy is it an 80s movie. Must have been fun to be a kid in the 80s where there’s zero consequences and you can go on murder adventures with Louis Gossett Jr.

BMFcast475 – Hercules II – Ginger Ric Flair
Hercules II (1985) is the continuing adventures of Lou Ferrigno’s Hercules, although he may not have known that as they were filming. The stop motion robots of the first film have been replaced by lasers and drugs, so there’s things to talk about here.
In the second half we’ve got things to say about Spider Man: Far From Home, The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot, Crazy Rich Asians, Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, The Ladykillers, The Beach and TV’s Holey Moley. Enjoy!

BMFcast470 – Driving Force – Sex Mint
Driving Force (1989) takes place during an apocalypse of some kind, but one that has only affected the tow truck industry. Sam Jones and Don Swayze play dueling tow truck drivers, and Catherine Bach plays a lady.
In the second half we’ve got some thoughts on The Lego Movie 2, and BJ revisits the BMFcast classic Action USA. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 115 – Tank
Tank (1984) is not the murder revenge fantasy it needs to be, but it’s still the tale of an Army Sergeant Major (James Garner) wrecking the state of Georgia in a tank because the local law is corrupt. Earnest, sincere and a lot of fun. Also, strangely relevant?

BMFcast Extra 114 – Krull
Krull (1983) is another example from our ongoing series entitled “Don’t revisit movies you think you liked from your childhood”. What’s most frustrating is that all the pieces are in place for this to be great, and yet, it isn’t. Anyway, come listen to us explain why.

BMFcast Extra 113 – The Park is Mine
The Park is Mine (1985) tells the story of a Vietnam vet (Tommy Lee Jones) who somewhat randomly is coerced into taking control of Central Park in New York City for 72 hours. Yaphet Kotto is one of the men in charge trying to get him out. This first movie made for HBO has some interesting ideas, and so do we. Come listen to them!
