BMFcast Extra 160 – Code of Silence

Code of Silence (1985) is a cop movie featuring cop Chuck Norris and a cop robot. Nothing more needs to be said, really. Except for what we say during the podcast of course.

The BMFcast Variety Hour 015 – Rae Dawn Mom

Commando (1985) was our homework assignment for this week. Is it the most BMFcast-y movie ever? Come find out. Afterwards we have things to say about the following properties: Happy Death Day, The Road Warrior, Mad Max Fury Road, Sound & Fury, Jerry Maguire and The Last Samurai. Along the way we have thoughts on Apple TV, Letterboxd, Netflix DVD rentals and the career path of Thandie Newton. Have fun!

BMFcast Extra 148 – Red Heat

Red Heat (1988) features Russian Arnold Schwarzenegger teaming up with Chicago cop James Belushi to take down a drug lord. It’s not the most fondly remembered Arnold movie, and there’s reasons for that.

The BMFcast Variety Hour 004 – Garmament Bag

Raw Deal (1986) is the movie we all watched this week as we ease back into our old format a bit (while still working remotely). It’s the forgotten Arnold Schwarzenegger movie that lies in the hidden valley between Commando and Predator. You should see it! It’s on Amazon Prime, check it out.

Other topics this variety hour include why you don’t keep your social security card in your wallet, The Gentlemen, King Arthur copyrights, Beastie Boys Story, The Last Dance, What We Do in the Shadows, Middleditch and Schwartz, shirtless Netflix comedians and Amazon’s broken-ass app.

BMFcast Extra 139 – Tuff Turf

Tuff Turf (1985) stars James Spader and Robert Downey Jr. as dueling superheroes who… wait, no that’s not right. Spader is a new kid at school, becomes friends with Robert Downey Jr., sets his sights on Kim Richards, and nearly gets everyone he loves murdered as a result. Also, it might be a musical?

BMFcast492 – Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 – Naughty This

Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 (1987) starts with 45 MINUTES OF FLASHBACKS to the first film. That’s not a joke. Then the short film sequel begins as the killer’s brother is now the killer and also a horrible actor. Drink every time he wiggles his eyebrows and chug every time he says “Naughty!”.

The second half is a movie opinion-a-palooza as we’ve got a lot of catching up to do. So join us for our thoughts on the following: Knives Out, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (contains mild spoilers), Ad Astra, X-Men Dark Phoenix, Hobbs & Shaw, Angel Has Fallen, Detective Pikachu, The Kid Who Would Be King, Dumbo, Long Shot, The Irishman, Anna and the Apocalypse, Replicas and finally a surprise film you’ll all want to know about.

And there’s still more! Enjoy chat about the new Netflix series The Movies That Made Us, and then finally we take an email about new television purchasing. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 132 – Running Scared

Running Scared (1980) features Ken Wahl and Judge Reinhold (in his film debut) as two US servicemen on the run from the CIA because they’ve inadvertently gotten themselves mixed up in the Bay of Pigs invasion. Everyone shouts and there are zero consequences.

BMFcast Extra 130 – Lock Up

Lock Up (1989) is one of several “dudes in prison” movies from around this time, and while it’s not the full speed Sylvester Stallone action movie we’re used to, it’s still worth a look. Also, Danny Trejo is here.

BMFcast489 – Robowar – To Watch a Predator

Robowar (1988) is 1987’s Predator, made by people who overheard a conversation about that film and decided to make it themselves. Seriously, it’s Predator but with a robot. That’s Robowar. Reb Brown is here to yell.

In the second half we’ve got thoughts on new offerings from all the new streaming services like Disney+ and Apple TV+, including The Mandalorian, The Morning Show and more. Also, Harlo returns to the land of the Poots. Enjoy!
