BMFcast Extra 070 – Silent Rage

Silent Rage (1982) is a horror/sci-fi/Chuck Norris movie where the Ranger from Texas goes up against an unstoppable killer created by damn, dirty science. It’s a weird thing!

BMFcast415 – Shakedown – Homemade Orange Julius

Shakedown (1988) is a bizarre mashup of courtroom action with late-’80s cop movie action insanity. Peter Weller is a loose-cannon lawyer working with Sam Elliott’s not-so-loose-cannon cop to take down a drug ring of crooked cops. Many a stuntman was likely injured in bringing you this craziness.

In the second half we get Oscar-happy as BJ loves Coco (2017) and Harlo has thoughts on The Shape of Water (2017).
Then it’s not-so-Oscary as we discuss the New Star Trek Trilogy and give a recommendation for listener Jens’ new podcast, The Goldsmith Oddyssey.

BMFcast Extra 069 – Disciples of the 36th Chamber

Disciples of the 36th Chamber (1985) is our one week only return to the Shaw Brothers universe in honor of Chinese New Year. Gordon Liu is back as monk San Te who tried to school a young troublemaker. Kung fu ensues.

BMFcast Extra 068 – The Aftermath

The Aftermath (1982) is another one of Those Things™ where one man had a vision and somehow got financing to sort of make that vision a reality. This one has a crew of astronauts returning to Earth to discover NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST and also rapists, led by Sid Haig. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 064 – Sheena Queen of the Jungle

Sheena (1984) gives Tanya Roberts her chance to play The Beastmaster as an orphaned child raised by an African tribe and taught magic powers to be their eventual savior. It’s a PG film, but she’s quite nude in this, and that’s fantastic.

BMFcast Extra 061 – Prancer

Prancer (1989) is a Holiday film that neither Chuck nor Harlo have ever seen before, and it produces wildly different reactions. One thing can be agreed on though, and that is that Sam Elliott is awesome. Merry December everyone!

BMFcast Extra 059 – The Beastmaster

The Beastmaster (1982) is this week’s Too Long For BMFcast Prime movie, which is a shame that everyone isn’t here to enjoy it… because it’s the goddamn Beastmaster. Childhood memories will be revealed, along with lots of Conan the Barbarian/Destroyer discussion as well. Enjoy!

BMFcast406 – Disorderlies – Fat Asstagonists

Disorderlies (1987) is a Three Stooges-esque comedy starring those ’80s icons(?) The Fat Boys. They’re a trio of orderlies hired to do a bad job by a scheming nephew looking to inherit his uncle’s fortune. We’d say wackiness ensues, but it’s already been stated that The Fat Boys can never be wack.

In the second half everyone is catching up on 2017 movies before next week’s Golden Jox awards, so we get quick takes on Colossal, Dunkirk, The Little Hours, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Pottersville, Sandy Wexler, Logan Lucky, Detroit, and Atomic Blonde. Holy cow.

BMFcast404 – Nighthawks – Peek A Boo Cop

Nighthawks (1981) combines two of our favorites, Rutger Hauer and Sylvester Stallone (along with Billy Dee Williams) in the story of a couple beat cops tasked with stopping an international terrorist. Does this slow burn thriller pay off for us?

In the second half we go nuts with movies, as we’ve all been quite busy watching the movie based on The Room (2003), The Disaster Artist (2017); hit up Netflix for Master of None and the longly-titled documentary Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – Featuring a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton (2017); catch up on some new comedies in The House (2017) and Baywatch (2017); get weird with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) and weirder with Colossal (2017); and delve into blockbuster fare with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Jurassic World (2015) and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). That might be the longest sentence we’ve ever put together.

BMFcast Extra 055 – I The Jury

I, The Jury (1982) was recommended to us based on the theme music alone. This adaptation of a couple of Mickey Spillane Mike Hammer novels features Armand Assante as a pissed off private dick doing… something. Whatever it is though, he’s angry about it!
