BMFcast Extra 038 – Dance Camp and SpaceCamp

It’s the final week of BMFcamp and we’ve got two movies for you that have the word “camp” in the title, 1986’s SPACECAMP and 2016’s DANCE CAMP. Also, a tease for our July theme. Enjoy!

BMFcast379 – Monster Trucks – Octopus Prime

Monster Trucks (2017) is the tale of a (30-year-old) teen and his truck, and also Creech, his inner-earth octopus monster thing unleashed by drilling who decides to live in the truck and have adventures. This Nickelodeon Studios financial flop sports a very recognizable cast and some pretty good special effects and jokes. Does it charm us into Jox?

Second half we get Harlo’s take on Wonder Woman (2017), Maki finally sees Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 (2017) and revisits the Harry Potter series with the first entry, Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone (2001). Plus, we receive a very special physical mail package. Enjoy!

BMFcast374 – Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos – KUFC

Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos (2015) aka Huevos: Little Rooster’s Egg-cellent Adventure marks the return of AniMAY! A young rooster named Toto must fight to save his owner’s farm. Literally. As in cock-fighting. At least it’s more like boxing, with all the requisite montages and fights one would expect. Is this Spanish-language 3D animated adventure our new AniMAY champ?

In the second half, Chuck discusses the Hunger Games series (2012-2015), Maki talks Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Office Space (1999), and BJ visits the non-Taco-Bell version of Demolition Man (1993) and the lunacy of Tank Girl (1995). Enjoy!

BMFcast368 – Countdown – The Wrong Dolph

Countdown (2016) continues the March to Wrestlemania as Dolph Ziggler is tracking down a child with a ticking time bomb attached to him. Kane is the police chief who yells at him a lot and Katharine Isabelle is the internal affairs agent who’s there to shut him down. Or help him. Or something. Also, there are lots of other wrestlers.

Second half has Harlo continuing his pinball project with CGI nightmare Lost in Space (1998), while Chuck gives his thoughts on Luc Besson’s Lucy (2014), Marvel’s Doctor Strange (2016), and Peter Berg’s Deepwater Horizon (2016). Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 016 – An Amityville Haunting

2011’s AMITYVILLE HAUNTING starts the third generation of Amityville movies. None of them are connected, most likely. This one is a found footage effort that acknowledges lots of backstory though, so it was mildly interesting to say the least. Enjoy what wound up being our Amityville finale!

BMFcast329 – Phantasm Balls

Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance (2015) is our third entry for Sequel Month, and boy do we have a tough time making sense of this thing. Much of the cast from the first film returns, along with a gaggle of porn stars and Tommy Wiseau. Because why not?

In the second half we talk Deadpool and then BJ attempts listener correspondence because Maki is out on leave. Enjoy!

BMFcast327 – True That

BMF-Ep327-slider

Deadliest Prey (2013) is the return of Mike Danton as he’s once again pulled into the dangerous game of man huntin’ by the evil Hogan in the sequel to BMFcast favorite David A. Prior’s classic Deadly Prey! Pretty much anyone that survived the first movie reprises their role in what amounts to a remake. Plus there are hackers and webcams. Does it work?

After the break we talk X-Men: Apocalypse, Step-Brothers, Electric Boogaloo: The Wild Untold Story of Cannon Films, and take some listener e-mails that devolve into JapaniMAY madness. Enjoy!

BMFcast325 – Therapig

BMF-Ep325-slider

Kindergarten Cop 2 (2016) brings decorated BMF alum Dolph Lundgren back to the show in a sequel to the Arnold original. He’s tracking down a hacked Witness Protection list and Bill Bellamy is along for the ride. Along with a dozen kindergarteners and some new-age liberal parenting, of course.

Second half Chuck discusses The Exterminator with Steve James and Exterminator 2 with a bunch of stuntmen. Maki continues his JapaniMAY trip with Patlabor: The Movie and Macross: Do You Remember Love. After that we all take some listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast318 – Sit, Stay, Heel Turn

BMF-Ep318-slider

Russell Madness (2015) is, predictably, the conclusion to the March To Russell Madness! Robert Vince returns to direct another tale of talking dogs and monkeys doing things they shouldn’t be doing. Like joining pro wrestling federations. Will we become Russell Maniacs by the time it’s all over?

After the break Harlo gives his take on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Maki easily recommends The Big Short and we check out another batch of listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast316 – Deus Ex Packina

BMF-Ep316-slider

Hunt To Kill (2010) is how we celebrate episode 316 and the March to Russell Madness. It stars Stone Cold Steve Austin (get it!? 3:16!?) as a border patrol agent who loses his partner and has a daughter who gets kidnapped by Gil Bellows and his crew and… Blah blah blah, just get to killing dudes, Steve. Thankfully, in the third act, he does.

After the break Harlo and Chuck discuss 10 Cloverfield Lane as non-spoilery as possible and we catch up on a batch of listener correspondence, including a bunch of brand new voicemails. Enjoy!
