BMFcast491 – Steel Arena – Dusty Roads

Steel Arena (1973) is the tale of daredevils in the 1970s traveling from town to town doing stunts for the people. Then they all die. What a great time at the drive-in for you and yours.

The second half features your emails and voicemails as we get caught up on our backlog of correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 128 – Project Shadowchaser 3000

Project Shadowchaser 3000 (1995) is the third installment in what’s rapidly become one of our favorite franchises ever. This time we’re in space and it’s a mix of The Terminator, Alien, Aliens, The Thing, Event Horizon and Jason X. Some of those things didn’t even exist when this was made! Also, Zagarino is back, baby.

BMFcast490 – Gus – Operation Yugo Drop

Gus (1976) is our first venture into Disney+’s vast library of titles, something we’ll do from time to time going forward. It involves a mule from Yugoslavia who ends up playing for the NFL’s California Atoms after demonstrating that it can kick 100 yard field goals. That’s not a fake synopsis.

In the second half, after Harlo has some thoughts on Angel Has Fallen (2019) we continue our Disney+ thoughts and eventually settle into a delicate debate about Song of the South (1946). Should it be on the service? If so, should there be surrounding historical perspective and interviews with relevant participants to explain what the deal is with that thing? Enjoy.

BMFcast Extra 127 – Project Shadowchaser II

Project Shadowchaser II (1994) is more of a retelling than a sequel to the first film. Frank Zagarino returns as “Android” without any explanation whatsoever to hijack a nuclear silo. An upper management lady, her son, and a maintenance man / former baseball player / current karate man are trapped inside and must save the day. It’s NUTS, and also a Christmas movie.

BMFcast489 – Robowar – To Watch a Predator

Robowar (1988) is 1987’s Predator, made by people who overheard a conversation about that film and decided to make it themselves. Seriously, it’s Predator but with a robot. That’s Robowar. Reb Brown is here to yell.

In the second half we’ve got thoughts on new offerings from all the new streaming services like Disney+ and Apple TV+, including The Mandalorian, The Morning Show and more. Also, Harlo returns to the land of the Poots. Enjoy!

BMFcast488 – Dead Trigger – Thanks Obama Bridge

Dead Trigger (2019) is a movie about Dolph Lundgren training a bunch of not-soliders to fight zombies, and they all pretty much die as a result. It’s terrible.

In the second half we’ve got a lot to catch up on including BJ’s thoughts on Dolemite is My Name (2019), Maki’s rewatch of Watchmen (2009) and Evil Dead 2 (1987), Harlo having words for Pet Sematary (2019), Good Boys (2019), Stranger Things Season 3 and Living With Yourself, and Chuck’s got quick thoughts on Trainwreck (2015), Crawl (2019), Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003), Revolver (2005) and Runner Runner (2013). Finally we wrap up with your emails. Enjoy!
