BMFcast464 – Born in East LA – Deus Ex Mexican

Born in East L.A. (1987) is our L.A.pril finale and it’s a charming comedy written and directed by star Cheech Marin. He’s a US citizen that gets swept up in an immigration raid and has to earn his way back to America. It has jokes that work and scenes that’ll infuriate you.

In the second half we’ve got thoughts on 2019’s Hellboy, Captain Marvel, and then some thoughts on spoiler culture as it relates to Game of Thrones and Avengers: Endgame. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 112 – The Crow Stairway to Heaven

The Crow: Stairway to Heaven (1998-1999) is the cable TV retelling of the Eric Draven storyline starring Mark Dacascos as the New Crow. These first two episodes are not a great start for a series and we probably won’t be watching any more of them. Probably.

BMFcast463 – LA Wars – Value Kilmer

L.A. Wars (1994) is our latest for LApril and it’s a kicking, punching and shooting stunt spectacular about a former cop who is tasked with taking down the Los Angeles mafia, which is in the middle of a drug war with another criminal group. Faces get kicked.

In the second half there’s Pet Sematary (2019) talk along with revisiting Rogue One, Solo and 2014’s Godzilla. Enjoy!

BMFcast462 – L.A. Streetfighters – Latch Kilo Kids

L.A. Streetfighters (1985) is our second LApril movie and also our second from the director of Miami Connection. 40-somethings attend high school in LA and get into random fights. It’s all very strange.

In the second half we’ve got DC Comics talk with both Shazam and Aquaman, more thoughts on Us, plus your emails. Also, you can now purchase a new T-shirt! Get them here.

BMFcast Extra 111 – Piranha II The Spawning

Piranha II: The Spawning (1981) is technically the directorial debut of James Cameron, but he doesn’t talk about it much and neither does anyone else involved in the production. The film does feature flying piranha though. That’s cool, right? Too bad the movie doesn’t bother to think it’s cool.

BMFcast461 – L.A. Bounty – Sybil Danning’s Mom Jeans

L.A. Bounty (1989) is our start to L.A.pril! It’s director Worth Keeter’s next film after Order of the Black Eagle and sadly the two aren’t even in the same ballpark. Wings Hauser shines though as an absolute loon who is locked in a struggle with bounty huntress Sybil Danning.

In the second half it’s all random talk and your emails. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 110 – The Crow City of Angels

The Crow: City of Angels (1996) is the second attempt at a Crow movie and wow, is it ever bad. Laughably bad. Anger inducing, even. However it does feature an absolutely brilliant bit of physical freaking out from Thomas Jane, so there’s SOMETHING. Also, stay tuned through the end for the debate about whether or not goths actually exist.
