BMFcast Extra 063 – Bright
Bright (2017) is the problematic Netflix fantasy action cop film starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton that everybody is talking about. So here are two more people talking about it. Two people with head colds. Sorry about the phlegm!

BMFcast409 – Van Nuys Blvd – Van Guys
Van Nuys Blvd (1979) wraps up #Vanuary with both vans and boulevards. It’s a laid-back slice of life time capsule clearly influenced by American Graffiti, and clearly an influence on Richard Linklater and others. It’s good times without consequences as the 1970s come to a close. Did we enjoy the trip?
After the break we get a little less focused as we discuss streaming services and movie availability, as well as reactions to both the Oscar nominations and the Razzies.

BMFcast Extra 062 – Rollercoaster
Rollercoaster (1977) is a perfect analogy for 2017. You want to go to an amusement park and have a good time but then a madman shows up and ruins your whole day. George Segal is here to save everyone, also just like 2017.

BMFcast408 – Supervan – Portvanteau
Supervan (1977) continues #Vanuary. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a goofy-looking solar-powered van and a lot of van footage from the Biannual Bicentennial Freakout ’76 Festival. Can whipped cream, lasers, and a whole lot of vannin’ earn it Jox?
After the break Maki hits the theater for The Shape of Water (2017) which leads to some general chat about the films of Guillermo del Toro. Harlo catches us up on his Golden Jox catch-up movies with XXX: The Return of Xander Cage (2017), Shyamalan’s Split (2017), Sophia Coppola’s The Beguiled (2017), The Great Wall (2017), which we discover was directed by the man who made the awesome House of Flying Daggers (2004), and lastly Chuck and Harlo discuss the disappointing Geostorm (2017).

BMFcast Extra 061 – Prancer
Prancer (1989) is a Holiday film that neither Chuck nor Harlo have ever seen before, and it produces wildly different reactions. One thing can be agreed on though, and that is that Sam Elliott is awesome. Merry December everyone!

BMFcast407 – The Van – Van Stuff
The Van (1977) seemed like the proper way to start #Vanuary! Bobby is a sleazy high school graduate who spends his college tuition on a sweet, sweet van. Will it get him the ladies he desperately seeks? Or will it end up with him getting his ass kicked by local bully Dugan?
In the second half it’s the Golden Jox awards for 2017! We reward our favorite movies of 2017 with the coveted award and unanimously pick a movie as our favorite of the year!

BMFcast Extra 059 – The Beastmaster
The Beastmaster (1982) is this week’s Too Long For BMFcast Prime movie, which is a shame that everyone isn’t here to enjoy it… because it’s the goddamn Beastmaster. Childhood memories will be revealed, along with lots of Conan the Barbarian/Destroyer discussion as well. Enjoy!
