BMFcast Extra 152 – Cold Pursuit

Cold Pursuit (2019) is not the movie you think it’s going to be. The simple plot description of “Snow plow driver Liam Neeson seeks revenge against the drug dealers who murdered his son” puts a very specific idea in your head, and it is not that at all. Not. At. All.

BMFcast Extra 151 – Jingle All the Way 2

Jingle All The Way 2 (2014) features Larry the Cable Guy eventually trying to hunt down the toy he thinks his kid wants for Christmas. And how he ever produced that child is the film’s greatest mystery.

The BMFcast Variety Hour 010 – President Garfield

In Search of the Last Action Heroes (2019) was our community movie for the week. It’s a decent documentary about the kinds of movies we like to watch here, and you too can watch it on Amazon Prime.

After that, Maki has some harsh words for Artemis Fowl (2020) and some kinder words for Adam Sandler’s The Week Of. Harlo plows through more Jackie Chan movies as well as the new run of Looney Tunes episodes on HBO Max and Sandler’s Uncut Gems on Netflix. Harlo and Chuck both have thoughts on the first season of Netflix’s Space Force. Finally, Chuck has some quick things to say about The Hollow Point (2016) and Dreamworks’ Turbo. Then we wrap it all up with your emails. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 150 – 6 Underground

6 Underground (2019) is a new Michael Bay film you should watch. So head to Netflix and do that. Right now. Once you’re done, come listen to us explain why it’s great and terrible all at the same time.

BMFcast Extra 149 – Santa’s Little Helper

Santa’s Little Helper (2015) features WWE stars The Miz and Paige who are battling to become the Vice President of Christmas, essentially. The Miz is a jackass who Santa wants to take over the position, and elf Paige is having none of it. From the director of 10 Things I Hate About You!

BMFcast Extra 145 – Dolemite is My Name

Dolemite is My Name (2019) is a lot of things. It’s a somewhat loving tribute to Rudy Ray Moore, who as you might know we’ve found to be varying levels of entertaining here on the BMFcast. More importantly though it’s a return to form for Eddie Murphy and Wesley Snipes, who are just terrific here.

BMFcast Extra 143 – Faster

Faster (2010) is the film The Rock made that broke him out of the Disney trap and set him down the path towards Fast Five. It’s a grim tale of revenge and murder that’s worth a look, but won’t come away from it feeling good.

BMFcast Extra 141 – Hercules

Hercules (2014) is The Rock’s version of Hercules and he’s a great Hercules. Problem is that the movie doesn’t want him to be Hercules. It wants to tell the story of a man who is being hyped up as being the son of Zeus but is actually just a dude. But he is the son of Zeus. It’s so strange. However, The Rock kicks all kinds of candy asses in this, and the action scenes are a blast.

BMFcast Extra 138 – The Amityville Murders

The Amityville Murders (2018) is an attempt to tell the original story of the DeFeo murders, the incident which occurred before the Lutz family moves into the house in the original Amityville Horror. In some ways it works, and in many others it doesn’t. But it has weird Amityville II: The Possession nostalgia and insane Long Island accents, so enjoy!
