BMFcast Extra 038 – Dance Camp and SpaceCamp

It’s the final week of BMFcamp and we’ve got two movies for you that have the word “camp” in the title, 1986’s SPACECAMP and 2016’s DANCE CAMP. Also, a tease for our July theme. Enjoy!

BMFcast386 – Star Slammer – Silver Is The New Black

Star Slammer (1986) is an early Fred Olen Ray effort, where a woman is sent to space prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Can she survive life in the space can with fellow inmates space fighting her, a space warden threatening her, and the man who imprisoned her out for space revenge?

After the break we discuss Netflix’s GLOW (2017) a little more before diving into listener correspondence. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 037 – Oddballs and Meatballs 4

It’s the penultimate week of BMFcamp and we’ve got two utterly bizarre entries for you. First up is 1984’s WTF-fest ODDBALLS, then there’s the Corey Feldman vehicle MEATBALLS 4. Enjoy!

BMFcast385 – Demonic Toys – Old Charnetski’s Spank Rag

Demonic Toys (1992) comes to us from Charles Band, Peter Manoogian (director of Arena and Eliminators), and David S. Goyer(!) When a demon brings toys to life to wreak havoc in an old warehouse only a pregnant cop, a chicken delivery boy and a runaway girl can stop them.

After the break Harlo checks out CHiPs (2017) and Chuck gets all music documentary-ish with The Defiant Ones (2017) and All Things Must Pass: The Rise and Fall of Tower Records (2015). This leads to talk of minimum wage jobs and other tomfoolery before we answer a bunch of your e-mails and voicemails. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 036 – It Takes Two and Daddy Day Camp

If any of you are six years old, this is the episode for you. Also, please don’t listen if you’re six. Anyway, we’ve got two family “friendly” movies this week: 1995’s IT TAKES TWO and 2007’s DADDY DAY CAMP.

BMFcast384 – Spacehunter – The Forbidden Arizone

Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983) is a b-movie space adventure staring Peter Strauss, Molly Ringwald, Ernie Hudson and Michael Ironside, but there’s a budget behind it. When Wolff (Strauss) is hired to track down earth women stranded on a distant planet run by Overdog (Ironside), he’ll need the help of Niki (Ringwald) and Washington (Hudson) to get into Overdog’s base and take him down.

After the break Harlo & Chuck superhero it up with Spider Man: Homecoming (2017), Wonder Woman (2017) and Power Rangers (2017), before Maki checks in on his magical journey with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (2009). Finally, BJ wants you to check out Titansgrave on YouTube. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 035 – Meatballs III and Heavyweights

Week 5 of BMFcamp breaks the premise as we get suckered into the not-camp, not-Meatballs movie MEATBALLS III but then save the day with 1995’s HEAVYWEIGHTS.

BMFcast383 – The Quest – Orson Welles’ Orphan Vision

The Quest (1996) is our farewell tribute to Sir Roger Moore. He’s a buccaneer who captures Jean Claude Van-Damme at sea and eventually enters him into a deadly fighting tournament in order to win a giant golden dragon. Oh and JCVD directed the film as well.

The second half is filled to the brim with movies we watched over the 4th of July break. Harlo’s got Kong: Skull Island and Life, Chuck hit the Redbox jackpot with The Founder, CHIPs, Passengers, The Lego Batman Movie, Fist Fight, and Patriots Day and then Harlo and BJ tag team the Netflix series GLOW. Enjoy!

BMFcast Extra 034 – Poison Ivy and Piranha

Week 4 of BMFcamp delivers Michael J. Fox and Nancy McKeon in 1985’s POISON IVY, and then the 1978 classic PIRANHA. One is fantastic, the other is not.
