BMFcast163 – Stunt Fro

TNT Jackson (1974) explodes onto week two of Blaxploitation History Month! This one brings us Playboy Playmate Jeannie Bell doing some rather unconvincing martial arts. Not to mention acting.

Second half we talk Lincoln (sans vampires), Paranormal Activity 4 (now with ghosts!) and plenty more (with our stupid comments!). Enjoy!

Ahhh, TNT Jackson. I am not necessarily saying that in a good way. I saw on Twitter that you guys teased this by saying it was in Machete Maidens Unleashed and I had a feeling you were referring to this.

I saw MMU on Netflix the last time I had it (a few months ago), shortly after I watched this movie on there, mainly because I had heard of it before and it was so short. Your review was rather accurate. What a shitty, shitty film and yet it can be great to laugh at, and it made for a memorable review just talking about the nonsensical plot. And to think that one of the writers of this movie is… Dick Miller! Yes, the longtime cult Corman actor.

Both MMU and the previous documentary (Not Quite Hollywood) are great stuff.

Paranormal Activity 4… I personally think that it’s clearly the worst in the series, despite the young teenagers actually being good characters and not annoying; I really liked the first three but even I have to admit there have been obnoxious annoying characters in the others, from stereotypical dumb teen girl to just plan idiocy from others.

I recently revisited “Timerider” too. I’m not sure it merits an episode (of course, I recommended “Q: The Winged Serpent” so I might not be the best judge of taste.)
