BMFcast161 – Phillip the Cyborg

Cyborg Cop (1993) gets a review before we dive straight into the listener recommendation of Cyborg Cop II. Wouldn’t want to get lost in the continuity after all. We’re glad we didn’t skip this one and neither should you.

Second half we cover a lot of movies including The Last Stand, Django Unchained, This Means War, Carlito’s Way and Spaceballs. Whew. That’s a lot of movies. Enjoy!

After that review, I am glad that both of those movies are on YouTube, but shhh you did not hear that from me.

I haven’t gone to the cinema in too long but the upcoming week I plan on finally seeing Django and The Last Stand. I heard some blah reviews on Parker (and from action fans) so I am more wary on that. Interestingly enough, I’ve also heard some people give middling reviews to The Last Stand but others out there like it, while I’ve actually heard mainly bad about Bullet to the Head which is disappointing, because of the stars and Walter Hill. One person even said it’s weirdly anti-Asian given that one of the leads is Korean-American.

I sure as hell won’t be seeing Movie 43. I’ve bashed it on Twitter often but the more I’ve heard about that ultra-vulgar film, the more I was turned off. I read a review which spoiled some of the “gags” and wow, does it sound unpleasant and filled with the most repugnant characters. It sounds even worse than a unanimous 5-bagger… that’s right, Forbidden Zone bad for you guys.

As for Spaceballs I saw that film in full recently and I personally still say it’s great. But, I’ve heard enough people who downright hate the film… hearing that someone thinks it’s not all funny isn’t a big deal for me.
