BMFcast159 – The Nazis Palin Comparison

By

Iron Sky (2012) is supposed to be a movie about Nazis on the moon but often times delves into wildly shifting tones. We’ll let you guess which parts we wanted more of.

Second half we talk Looper, Clash/Wrath of the Titans and catch up on a backlog of listener correspondence. Enjoy!

Heh, I’ll tell you no matter how underground a person’s musical tastes, Laibach is not one of those bands I ever expect anyone else to have heard of, let alone mention on a podcast. It sounds like they’re a perfect fit for this movie though because I never know how serious they are/take themselves.

On the subject of Cage, may I suggest Bad Lieutenant Port of Call? No I haven’t seen it. Just watch the trailer. Plus I’m afraid to try watching it myself.

On the subject of Legend, Jerry Goldsmith did the original soundtrack (not Horner). Tangerine Dream did the rescoring for American audiences.

On second thought, maybe you should just skip the Cage and do some Cyborg Cop 2 cause I’m sold on it from that description.

Laibach proves Poe’s Law; their concerts are like political rallies for some Mitteleuropaishe goon state, they mock the aesthetics of Socialist Realism and Nazi poster art, they are part of the NSK movement which issues it’s own passports.

That written I liked them before two of their members became smack junkies and they started working with Eurotrash techno groups.
