BMFcast127 – Barry Bostwick’s Wardrobe Department

By

Megaforce (1982) is amazing and stars three BMFcast alums! Barry Bostwick is Ace Hunter, a man of action and snazzy ever changing costumes. Michael Beck is Dallas and that’s about all that he’s good for. Henry Silva is the bad guy who is also strangely kind of best friends with the hero. Also there’s souped up dirt bikes that fire rockets! (And maybe some other amazing tricks up their sleeves!)

Second half we talk Men in Black 3 (2012) along with a host of other movies and take a few listener emails. Enjoy!

Oh, Megaforce… this is an appropriate movie for the podcast. I am glad to know that the plot makes zero sense to other people too. It’s awful but it’s still hilarious.

As for G.I. Joe 2… sigh. I wasn’t too happy about it either, and I know plenty of action fans online who were enraged by it too. I’ve heard various theories as to why and no matter the excuse, Paramount can F off for this move. All the changes they’re going to make… now I am not even all that interested in the movie any longer. And that is yet another reason why I don’t care for the film studios in general.

Yeah, the GI Joe 2 thing is complete bullshit. Completely killed all the excitement I had for the film. Heck I may not even see it in the theater now. And really the more incredulous part is to add more Channing Tatum, a character I utterly despised in the first film. Here’s hoping they have the non-Tatum cut when it hits home video.

  3. Steve says:

What’s really sad is that my brother and I still quote Megaforce to this day. “Stealth nose… they don’t know yer comin’!” I really need to revisit this masterpiece at some point.

As far as G.I. Joe 2 goes, it’s one of the more baffling decisions I’ve ever heard of. They could have spent the same amount of money printing posters with all the bad reviews the film would have gotten as it was, and it STILL wouldn’t have hurt the film the same way this move does. Though I think the answer on how to fix it is pretty obvious. Barry Bostwick cameo.
