BMFcast118 – T is Back

Surviving the Game (1994) may be another Most Dangerous Game movie, but stars a bevy of BMFcast alums. Rutger Hauer, Ice T, Charles S. Dutton and Gary Busey all return in this cast. Plus throw in Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham and John C. McGinley because there needs to be more dudes with initials in this one.

Second half we talk The Hunger Games, takes some voicemails and email. It truly is the most dangerous game you can play with your ears. Enjoy!

Here is a video preview of us giving terrible Ice T impersonations!

I enjoyed hearing the perspective of someone who hasn’t read the books on the movie. Everyone I hang out with in town has already read them. There are definitely dimensions that the movie could have benefited from that were in the book but I don’t know if the audience would have put up with a 3 or 4 hour movie. I really enjoyed the movie and might actually see it again in theater but you get a whole lot more out of the movie from reading the book. Haymitch’s (Woody) story arc was the one I missed the most.

  2. Blair Russell says:

Yes for the movie selection. I found out about it a few years via a messageboard, where the film has some fans. I rented it then and then later I got the DVD from a Blockbuster that went out of business, but haven’t watched that yet. I like the movie more than you guys but I can understand the complaints.

I must be in the minority as I could not care less about The Hunger Games. The plot doesn’t do anything for me and it sounds like there is way too much stupid shit for my tastes… I know, sounds weird given that I just defended Surviving the Game, but it’s true. Characters named Katniss Everdeen and Haymitch Abernathy? No thank you. I’d rather watch The Running Man. Besides that being awesome, The Hunger Games doesn’t have YAPHET KOTTO, making my decision all the easier.

By the way, I just listened to the episode today as this weekend I was down in Miami for Wrestlemania. I know, I know; I mainly went to see The Rock in the main event and I did other things while I was down there. It was quite the experience and during the show they did play an ad for G.I. Joe 2 that I hadn’t seen before.

    Did boots meet asses?

  4. Blair Russell says:

As a matter of fact, I’ll say yes. The Rock figuratively kicked Cena’s ass at least during parts of the match. It wasn’t quite like Rock vs. Diesel, but then again what can compare to that?

  5. Toeski says:

Your Mason impressions have left me rather confused. Was Mason played by Ice-T or Mike Tyson? Your impressions make me think Mike Tyson.

  6. Harlo Harlo says:

There is a very thin line between Ice T, Mike Tyson and Terrance Howard. It is separated by a T.
