Thor by all rights should not work out on screen and the fact that it does probably makes me think of the movie as better than it is. I’m not a fan of the comic character much either.

I’m with Chuck on the F&F movies. I have seen all of them except for Tokyo Drift and I only like them enough to sit through them when I can’t sleep. I want to stab myself in the eye every time I hear some idiot in town with a junkyard spoiler on his Honda tell me he “lives his life 1 mile at a time”. Fast Five of course I love.

Also The Rock was a villain in Doom. Man why don’t you guys watch that? I’ve seen it but only remember one fantastic line from the movie. Its probably terrible.

  2. Maki Maki says:

Sorry, but you and Chuck are both wrong. Fast & Furious is the only iffy one, in my book. The first one is a fun Point Break ripoff that is surprisingly well-plotted and paced, the 2nd is a completely insane 80s action movie in all the best ways, and Tokyo Drift is by far the one with the best actual precision stunt driving. The fourth is the only one where I felt fatigued by it all, because they tread mostly the same ground that has already been covered. At least it sets up Fast Five fairly well. It sounds as if you guys hate the audiences for the movies more than the movies themselves to me…

Doom was on the list very early on, and I believe was the movie we almost watched instead of Stealth. We probably need to put it back on the list. We’re due for a video game movie soon anyway!

  3. Randy Post says:

I agree with you on the F + F movies. They were good enough to watch. But not something you would want to watch a second time.

  4. Chuck says:

I watched Doom on HD-DVD! Ahh, memories.

  5. Blair Russell says:

This is a movie that I haven’t heard much about, even in action film circles. After listening to the description, it sounds more disappointing than anything else so I think I’ll skip out on it, despite some funny moments.

Then again, compared to Bulletproof, many movies will pale in comparison.

At least the review of the film was as funny as usual.

  6. Maki Maki says:

To be honest, we make it sound a little worse than it is. It’s worth seeing for sure, just don’t expect a big awesome showdown at the end. And don’t expect amazing explosions because there aren’t many to be had…

Yeah, Bulletproof is light years more fun than this but then again, it’s light years more fun than a LOT of things.
