BMFcast87 – Hitler on Ice

Handpainted posters > Every other poster

Order of the Black Eagle (1987) is reviewed this episode. It’s the second (of two) Duncan Jax movies and while Unmasking the Idol (1986) is fun, this one just ups EVERYTHING up to a number beyond 11. We talk for about an hour, if that tells you anything, and we didn’t even mention Hitler’s face exploding!

Second half we take some voicemails and talk the finer points of Chuck Norris, Smarmy Chuckface and indie zombie movies. Plus some Japanese gore movies with RoboGeisha and Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl. Then we kick it into overdrive and talk Tree of Life. All of this is true except one part. Enjoy!

I just want to say… Go on Netflix, right now. I’ll even provide a handy-dandy link:

Jump to 1:09:45. Watch the best 30 seconds of your life. You’re welcome.

  2. Chuck says:

When you do go back into the Chuck Norris library, you’re going to be tempted by TOP DOG and FOREST WARRIOR. Allow me to steer you clear from those. A couple of hilariously bad moments in each, but otherwise they’re silly kids movies that will not deliver on what you’re looking for. You could do SIDEKICKS with the illustrious Joe Piscopo if you want a “better” Chuck Norris kids movie.

Sadly you’ve already done the two most appropriate Chuck Norris movies. THE DELTA FORCE might be your only acceptable option at this point. Possibly BREAKER BREAKER. Everything else ranges from moderately decent (MISSING IN ACTION) to boring as hell (THE OCTAGON, EYE FOR AN EYE, etc.)

For some reason I didn’t get to listen to this whole thing last week. I realized this when I never got to hear the audio version of Maki’s Tree of Life opinion. And bonus, I hadn’t realized Harlo had seen it too.

Yeah for me listening to you guys is usually more fun than watching the movie. I don’t have a cadre of buds I can get together and rib a movie with. Most of my friends don’t have the 8-5 shift I do.

  4. Maki Maki says:

We try to be aware of whether or not a movie will be terrible if you watch it alone vs a load of fun with friends (Dracula 3000 being the best example of this.) Order of the Black Eagle is a movie that I would watch solo without hesitation, and I don’t think we’ll ever have a 5-jox movie that isn’t great in both a solo or group setting. Glad we can kind of give you the group thing, at least a little bit!

I still think Missing In Action is the Norris pick but we’ll see…

  5. Zark says:

ZOMG, only through half the cast and i am watching this right now!
