BMFcast50 – Action Explosion

Oh yeah, brother! Double Feature!

This episode we celebrate the big 5-0 in style with a double feature of epic proportions! First it’s No Holds Barred (1989) followed by Over the Top (1987). Wrestling and arm wrestling. That’s how you do it, folks.

Then after all that we calm down and talk bad movie marketing for our topic. What gets under our skin when it comes to convincing people to see a movie.

    What’s that smell?

  2. MusiM says:

Funny story, the X-Men movies along with the trilogy boxset came out on Blue Ray and in protest of the third movie, I just bought the first two X-Men movies on blue ray which cost me $5 more. But I’m a pretty anal X-Men fan.

Also I think Zack Synder makes some pretty badass looking trailers. Its hard to think of whether his trailers are spoiler filled though because well… his movies are kind of emotionally void. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love 300 and The Watchmen but they’re more cool looking than anything to me.

Happy 50th guys!!! (six and a half months later)
Kinda disappointed, when talking about Mike Hawks’ graduation, that there was no cum laude joke. Just sayin.

  4. Ed says:

Holy crap. I must have missed this one.

NHB was my favorite movie as a kid. Yeah, I ate my prayers and said my vitamins. What of it?

  5. Strelnikov says:

On YouTube, “willnotbeignored1” has all the Hawk/Hawks nonsense in one 1:24 video:

    Video title: Hawk/Hawks

It’s not just the dialogue; his truck says “Hawk Trucking”; but letters addressed to his wife are “Hawks.”
